Product Description
This skin conditioner has a nice, light aroma as well as a base that gently absorbs into the skin making it soft and supple.
The ingredients were specially chosen because of their healing qualities and gentleness for meeting the needs of most types of skin:
Shea Butter – Known especially for its cosmetic properties as a moisturizer and emollient, it is also a known anti-inflammatory agent. Effective in the treatment of: fading scars, eczema, burns, rashes, acne, severely dry skin, blemishes, dark spots, skin discolorations, chapped lips, stretchmarks, and wrinkles. Shea butter is a natural sunscreen, although the level of protection is extremely variable, ranging from none at all to approximately SPF 6.
Beeswax – Considered the king among waxes, I chose this as the emulsifier for my lotion not only for its purity but also as a thickening agent.
Coconut Oil - A tropical oil extracted from the dried inner flesh of coconuts, coconut oil is among the most stable of all oils. It is excellent as a skin moisturizer with no adverse reactions.
Castor Oil – Derived from the Castor bean, it is so similar to the natural oils of the body it is easily absorbed into the tissues and assists in their rejuvenation. Used for centuries throughout the world for its anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties including: skin problems, burns, sunburns, skin disorders, skin cuts, abrasions, etc. One of Castor oil's derivatives, undecylenic acid, is FDA approved for over-the-counter use on skin disorders or problems.
Glycerin – Used as a preservative, an antibacterial agent, and also as an emulsifying agent.
Vitamin E – Healing agent and antioxidant.
Lavender Essential Oil – Known as the essential oil for having the broadest spectrum of benefits, it not only has many topical benefits such as antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties but also has a very calming quality. If applied to the temples, lavender oil is said to soothe headaches and is frequently used as an aid to sleep and relaxation. Interesting to note, it has a rich history that spans generations and cultures. In ancient Roman times, it was considered precious and quite expensive; during WWI it was used in hospitals to disinfect floors, walls and other surfaces.
Ylang Ylang III Essential Oil – This essential oil is widely used in aromatherapy. It is believed to relieve high blood pressure, normalize skin problems, and is considered to be an aphrodisiac. It was chosen primarily to soften and complement the aroma of the lavender.
